Nasal bleed :

Causes:

• It can be due to a sharp deviation of the nasal septum, called the septal spur. In extreme hot or cold climate this can cause bleeding. Trauma to the nose is another cause.

• Hypertension, certain nasal tumours etc can also cause bleeding

Diangnosis:

• History
• DNE
• CT SCAN

Treatment:

• Depends on the cause. Most can be left alone. Decongestant nasal drops are useful sometimes.
• Surgery if there is a sharp, significant septal spur .
• Nasal tumors can be surgically removed

• If there is a ruptured blood vessel, it can be cauterized endoscopically.
