Pus might look as white spots on the tonsils. Symptoms usually get worse over 2-3 days and then gradually go, typically in a week.

Tonsillitis arises when the pharyngeal tonsils, located in the back of the throat turn out to be inflamed. This can be instigated by an infection or allergies. Tonsillitis can cause a severe sore throat and may have to be healed with medication or surgery.

When the tonsils turn out to be inflamed for long time periods, it is assumed to be chronic tonsillitis.
